The Basura Bash is the largest volunteer clean-up of the San Antonio River and its tributaries. It is an annual event to raise awareness of the importance of keeping our waterways clean and to increase stewardship through volunteerism. Basura Bash is also recognized as an event that encourages responsible disposal of waste. All metal and tires will be sent to recycling facilities instead of the landfill.

About the Basura Bash Planning Organization: The Basura Bash Planning Organization is a volunteer organization with a mission to increase stewardship of the San Antonio Area Waterways through the mobilization of volunteers, community education and building public/private partnerships for the betterment of our community's environment. Basura Bash is the largest single-day waterway clean up in Texas. This event has seen continued growth over the past 17 years in both the number of volunteers and waterways cleaned.
